Daily News

A daily news is a newspaper that is published each day and contains information about current events. It covers a variety of topics, from political issues to sports. Daily newspapers also contain classified ads and comics.

There are many different kinds of daily news, but most have a similar layout. The front page often features large photographs and a summary of the most important stories. The rest of the paper usually includes intense city news coverage, celebrity gossip, and a variety of other sections. Some papers have a national section, while others focus on local news. Some of the largest daily news sources are The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Los Angeles Times.

In its heyday the Chicago Daily News was one of the foremost evening dailies in the United States, known for its excellence in international reporting and its prestigious staff of writers. However, circulation problems and escalating expenses led to financial difficulties for the paper, which closed in 1978.

The Yale Daily News Historical Archive consists of more than a million pages of the New York Daily News and its predecessors from 1855 to 1906. This collection is available to the public through a searchable online database. The archive reflects the diversity of American society and culture in its coverage of events and the perspectives of its authors. The Archive is a gift of an anonymous alumnus of Yale College.

Each daily news article contains comprehension and critical thinking questions that can be found below the article. These questions are designed to help students understand the article and its context in the larger world of journalism. In addition, a “Background” and “Resources” (including video clips, maps and links) are provided to give further context to the article.
